Added this torch about 3 weeks ago. For the last couple of days it haven't been extending. Does it look OK?

When you see this tissue retracting then you have an issue.

How new is your tank?

What are all of your water parameters?
Ca
Mg
Alk
No3
Po4

No3 very little to much
Po4 little low

This shouldn't effect the torch.

How about your ph?

Other params look ok

Ph usually sits at about 8.3.

I did add a hydra 26 to the tank, as the only light. Not sure about PAR. I did run in accilimation mode for a couple of weeks after adding the Torch, not sure if that was long enough. Have turned it back on to see if that makes a difference.

Only have the Torch and small Duncan (5 heads) in the tank.

The only swing that I see is the alk, swings between 7.3 and 7.7. I haven't noticed any other swings. I have been feeding the Duncan, but not the torch.

My torches only like being on the sandbed, any higher and they quit extending and start shriveling up. They also like a lot of flow. Yours looks to be pretty high in the tank. I’m running Hydra 52 HD’s 10” above tank on 24” deep tank.

Flow could be a problem. The Duncan is sitting at about the same height but in the middle of the tank and seems to get a bit of flow, the Torch is off to the side and doesn't seem to get much flow. Maybe I should move the Torch a bit closer to the centre of the tank.

My tank is 18'', the Torch sits maybe 5'' off the bottom. The light is about 12'' of the water.

Here's my build thread. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-first-reef-tank.508858/

Does the torch wobble around where it is sitting? Corals do better if they are secured in place.
It does look like that coral might enjoy more current and less light? Moving it to the center of the tank would likely increase the light intensity.
And LPS seem to like some food, and fish waste is the best for them imo. Plankton would be the next best thing if you can get that? My lps always do best in the corners of the tank where the extra fish food & fish waste drift on the currents flowing into the coral.

Doesn't seem to wobble around. I do need to glue it in place, just haven't yet, in case I need to move it. Will try feeding it, see if that makes a difference.

The Duncan seems to be happy where it is.
