I have a 14g BioCube that has been a QT for small fish for quite a while. I will be changing this tank to a hospital tank, so I want to experient a little.

It has some hair algae and red, purple, green Cyanobacteria, but not bad. Over feeding & no skimmer or mechanical filtering, just water changes, but good old live rock with good amount of coraline.

Dr. Tim, Seachem and several more company's have their own ''miracle'' worker, algae go away for dumb dumbers. I came across this ReegHD Reef Flux as an example.

Do any of these work well ?
Not,...as a start over, but safe for fish & corals.

I've never used Reef Flux. However, I have used Fluconazole, and I can say It worked wonders in my tank. I used it early on. I'm a newbie to reefing. I've had saltwater tanks fish only for around ten years. I've only been into coral tanks for two years. And have been doing research before putting a piece of coral in my tank. Knowledge helps. But... I believe hands on is your best way of learning. I think you get the picture. I have learned, any kind of chemical treatment is only a temporary fix. You Need to find the reason for the algae outbreak.

I have used reef flux and was pretty amazed. But as above if conditions are not fixed or grazers added it will come back.

I had no issues with coral or fish.

"You Need to find the reason for the algae outbreak"

Lol,...I know the reason,...like I said, over feeding (get fish used to feeding, people, husbandry etc) no skimmer or filtration, carbon....
I'm just researching products that can be added to chemically to clean up the unwanted. They seen popular. I'd rather take of them by being

Search on fluconazole to see folks experiences with it.
