Does salt go bad???

I bought a box of instant ocean reef crystals about a yr ago. Have been buying water from lfs
but after finding their ro water off I'm done so going to mix my own water.
How long does everyone let their salt mix for?

The salt should be fine as long as it is still sealed and dry.

oops forget that part..its been opened and some of it used. theres over a 1/2 a box left
So guess i'll be hiting petsmart tomorrow....whats everyone else keep their salt in?

It's most likely fine as long as it hasn't gotten wet. mix up a small batch and test it. don't forget to mix it up good before you mix it.

yeah the being dry part is important. I had a box on my porch that got rained on and the bags weren't properly sealed and it was all ruined. I tried to use it, but it never would clear.

If the salt is clumping it has been exposed to moisture. If it is still granulated you should be good to go.
