Hello everyone,

I’m starting a new tank after being out of the hobby for a few years. I have a full bucket of tropic Marin salt that is about 2 years old. I opened and used a little bit when I first got it but it’s been closed shut for a few years in my basement. Will it be ok to use on my new setup?

If it was kept in a dry, cool place, then yes it should be okay to use.

If salt is hard thrn its bad. If you can still kinda break it up with your hand fairly easily or its still powder its ok... but if its hard toss it

Thanks for the quick responses appreciate it. Yeah I was thinking it should still be ok. The bucket was closed tightly and salt is still in powder form.
