Does sump humidity kill cabinets?

I would be worried about the fumes from polyurethane or any other coatings, even when dry some still release fumes like formaldehyde, etc.

yes, good point and should only be considering BEFORE setting up tank

Ideally this is in well ventilated space away from humans, pets, etc... We do dirty and/or stinky construction projects in our garage...

Fan will help plus help with cooling sump heat. Dropped my tank temp almost 1 degree. I got this inexpensive fan on amazon for the power supply and speed control. I then replaced this fan with a Noctua, super quiet.

I am curious why you mounted your fan this way. Mine is to pull air out of the cabinet.

I mounted mine that way because I didn't want to drill a hole with a hole saw. The opening in the back was already there. It blows hot air out the back of the cabinet. I have a lot of equipment and a refugium light under there and noticed heat when opening the door. I keep the house at 77. The tank was getting close to 81. It never goes above 79 now with the fan.

I mounted a fan like this to pull the humidity out of a sealed cabinet and the fan rusted up pretty quick.

Mine is on a side door. I didn't want it blowing out the back on the painted wall. The fan is painted pretty well.
