Does the picture on the tank really work?

Idk, my pair of gnm were being hosted in the lfs and when I brought them home they tried being hosted by the sand[emoji23] which obviously didn't work, I felt rly bad for them and bought an anemone for them which they immediately went into and they are still in

Come on people, really! Correlation is not causation. BTA is not a natural host anemone for most if the clowns folks keep, so it's 50:50 at best; nice photo or no nice photo.

The pictures didn't work so I bought a new clown which will make 2 for the tank, and this little breeder box, it actually works perfect. It's easy to catch an anemone. After trying all night to catch my clown while he was sleeping I finally caught him and put him in a little makeshift strainer basket, I woke up this morning to find the basket had fallen and my nem and my clown had escaped. (Back down into the tank of course)

So I bought a new clown, and am trying to get the anemone to host it. Unfortunately, the only clowns they had were the same size as mine. Hopefully they will pair up instead of fighting.

I read that if you have the lights out at night and shine a flashlight on the nem the clown will go towards the light and host the nem. Did it once and it worked for one clown. The other hosted a ricordea then stopped now he sleeps in my candy canes.

Taping a picture to the tank worked for me. Had a pair of black and white clowns at the time. Took about a week.

Aslo seen a video where a clear tube was placed around the nem, and the clowns were put into the tube. Basically forced the clowns to get to know the nems

Ive used the tube slide, pictures and videos. I think all 3 worked. Every clown ive ever owned has been hosted by a nem. Also i used a flashlight and pointed it straight down at the nem after tank lights went out. That worked best for me. Good luck!

Love how everyone wanted clowns and anemones to come together. I was happy that my clowns ignored my LTA. Mainly because it liked to hang out in the back of my tank. My clowns happily lived in some coral in the front. Sadly after having them for 2 years my LTA moved to the front of the tank. And after a few months the clowns moved in! That was 3 years ago. You just never know! They could trade homes at any time!

I downloaded 10 or 15 photos of clowns hosting to one of those picture frame photo display devices and taped that to the side of the tank. After a couple weeks, the male first discovered the anemone and the fun part was watching the male try to convince the female to "come on" come over here to this nice anemone. It took a couple more days, but they eventually both found it and from then on were inseparable.

Humm mine have not notice my BTA yet I have never heard of using pictures Let us know if it works infesting maybe I will give it a try guess it can't hurt

Yes, that's the way my old clown did it. One day I woke up and he was in it! I had to get rid of him for eating my SPS. Don't worry, he found a new home and is happy as is his new owner.

That's a good point! Would like to hear anyone's experience with that as well

For me, the one that's always worked is putting the fish and anemone into a small floating enclosure for a while, hours or days as needed. Then transfer them together. At the moment I have a young pair that won't go anywhere near any of my 5 btas.
In the past I have had others being hosted by euphylias and had to remove them to give the poor coral a chance.
