I’ve had him for almost three weeks, but velvet just wiped out all of my fish. I feed him krill every other day and he ate fine.
My light schedule is:
Ch1- 8am-7pm blue light
Ch2- 10am-5pm white kelvin
Moonlight 8pm-10pm
1 hr ramp
50% power and spectrum

same as above...no need to feed. Good turbulent flow, lighting at least 250 par with a good spectrum, and clean water. The animal will catch food in the column or when you feed your fish --- hopefully with the flow off. If you do want to feed, latest info from coral magazine was showing that smaller particles like Reef Roids is best...but even that I wouldn't do more than a couple times a month.

I would, personally only feed if the anemone is badly damaged or hurt -- even then it would be reef roids and aminos/vitamins and clean water.

Unless you're talking a carpet?

Thank you for the advice. Since I don’t have fish anymore and have about 70 more days of a fallow tank how often should I drop a little food in the tank? Just have the one nem, 5 nesarious snails, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 peppermint shrimp and a sand sifting star.

At under 4 months old the tank is most likely not stable enough yet to support a nem.

Hey Ian when the velvet wiped out your tank, did you use any medications for it? Maybe run some carbon and do some water changes to dilute as much as the medication out of your tank as possible if you did use some. In addition, anemones are really hard for beginners just because they require a stable and mature tank but I would keep him where he is, try not to move him as much because he will move to an area that he prefers on his own and best of luck to you and your BTA

Like other has mentioned don’t feed Anemone often. I speaking for BTA’s others I don’t know.
Mine look so so and split 3 times. I stoped feeding and it is looking great. It will sometimes get food when I feed the tank or I’ll give very small amount every few weeks.

Thanks! I put Herbtana in there for 4 days then stopped because all the fish died. Was going to set up a qt and use copper, but it was too late. I should have waited a few more months before I bought it. Here’s a pic from Thursday. He’s looking even better today.
