that looks similar to some fresh water puffers I have seen but you need to ask the pet store to make sure.

I've had a couple of these through my years of doing fresh water... I always kept them in the own tank with slightly brackish water...There awesome lil dudes

Green Spotted Puffers kept in aquariums require brackish water through most of their lives. In wild conditions they start in freshwater, and often migrate to marine conditions as adults. As far as you are concerned, this means you are likely going to have to increase the salinity of your tank water as your puffer ages.

i want one but i also want to make sure petstore is keeping them right

If they are healthy, they will be bright in color and very energetic....Mine always seemed to be happy to see me and greeted me like dogs...Tail wagging and all......If they look cloudy and lathargic don't buy.....But def one of my favorite semi freshys

You can keep fresh if young, but as they mature you want to make the water a bit brackish...Had mine for about 6-7 yrs

Never had luck with the figure 8 puffers though...Just the green spotted
