Does this look like Brooklynella or an infection?

Received this blue jaw trigger 9 days ago. It is in my quarantine and has been in therapeutic levels of coppersafe for 4 days. I also dosed prazipro 3 days ago. These marks showed up just before I dosed the prazipro.
I also been feed him metroplex with focus.

What does this look like to you? Should I dose antibiotics.
It’s little hard to see from pictures. But looks like scales are peeling off on his throat.

He is eating and swimming well. Is not scratching or head shaking.

I should add that i received him from an online order with a wrasse, star blenny and 2 anthisa. They all died within 2 days I received them. They didn’t show any symptoms that I noticed for cause of death.

I'm also seeing several white blotches on his left side, below his dorsal and above his pectoral - is that correct?

As you're already using Metronidazole, you're headed in the right direction - whichever it turns out to be. An Acriflavin (disinfectant) bath wouldn't hurt this guy, I suspect, and Metro, Kanaplex and Furan-2 are, for many, the go-to combination of antibiotics. Metro also treats Brooklynella, (useful stuff to have around, that!) so you're covered there.

Yes he has several white blotches along his back. He also has several spots on the other side but not is bad.
Is metro effective for brook if it’s fed with food only? Or does it have to be dosed in the water to cure anything externally?

I would like to finish the copper treatment In case it was velvet that took out the other fish he came with. Will it be okay to dose these anitibiotocs with it? If so should I wait to dose the antibiotics after I do the second round of prazipro.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I agree with Bruce that an Acriflavin bath would be a great idea. I don't see the typical Brook symptom of sloughing mucus which makes me feel like this is bacterial. I could be Brook, I'm just not convinced it is.

Metro can be less effective when dosed internal but it will still work. With copper, prazi, and metro at the same time that is a lot of meds. Are you running an air stone? The copper should help limit a bacteria bloom but one could still happen.

Any time a fish dies in the first 2 days of receipt the first 2 things I look for are improper acclimation and velvet. Do you know what the salinity was in the shipping water compared to what you keep your QT at?

I have two sponge filters and a hob protein skimmer.
For acclimation, I had matching salinity of 1.020 with the shipping salinity. Currently 1.023 from topping off with saltwater. They were drip acclimated for 40 minutes.
I don’t have acriflavin on hand or familiar with it. Is this made by ruby rally?

Yes, Ruby Reef Rally has acriflavin in it as an active ingredient.

I will be dosing Kenoplex, Metro and Furan 2 with the copper. And wait for the second round of prazipro until antibiotics are done.

Ill receive the Ruby Reef Rally on Saturday. The directions I found online don't give any instructions for a bath.
Do I use the recommend dose in a separate container and for how long?
Also do I use fresh made water with matching parameters for the dip or use the tank water from the quarantine with the copper and antibiotics?

It's roughly one teaspoon per gallon, a little under. It's ok if you use up to the full teaspoon though, it's pretty forgiving.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Blenny and Anthias. My first reaction from the photos of the triggerfish is Flukes. I would strongly suggest a FW dip in a clear container (such as large specimen container), and hold the container up to the sunlight or use a bright flashlight and I bet you will see flukes falling off like snow!

The distribution of the spots around the anterior portion of the body is pretty typical of flukes. Give that a shot and let us know how it goes! The FW dip won't be enough to cure the problem, however it is a great diagnostic tool.

Good luck!

I was thinking flukes as well. Thats the reason did a round of prazipro. It didn’t seem like it effected anything with the skin condition. Maybe he developed an infection where the flukes have been?
Tonight I did notice as what is shown in the picture a white stand of some sort coming out of him. Can this be some kind of fluke possibly?
I will do a fresh water dip and see what that comes out with.
I’m not sure now if I should do another round of prazipro to make sure all the flukes are gone or start the antibiotics. I don’t want to mix all of that with the copper.
