It typically means they are stretching for more light. Any chance you can move it to a higher light area and see if it works?

Could be they are starved for light and stretching. Zoas are weird, you can have two colonies next to each other and one will suddenly melt away for no reason while the other is perfectly fine.

Not enough light. Move them further up and they will shrink down to size
