Question. I am going to have a QT for my first fish but while I wait for them, would it be appropriate to intro a green star polyp to the isolated bottom rock, at the same time I introduce my cleanup crew to my DT? My thought process is that, if I plan to fallow, which I do, while I wait for my clowns to clear their quarantine, I should be able to use my DT as a QT for coral and inverts until my clowns are ready? Feeding the coral should also provide organic matter for my bacteria and inverts and any required remedies should not interfere with one-another. Does this make sense?

I wouldn't worry too much about a GSP or cleanup crew introducing any pests. However, I will say that alot of remedies should something arise are really hard to get out and can sometimes kill inverts, so I wouldn't treat your DT with anything unless absolutely necessary. I would also caution introduction of GSP as it can take off and become a pest if it isn't isolated. Also make sure to let your tank fully cycle before adding the cleanup crew.

I'm still a couple of weeks out, ammonia is being consumed, nitrite is beginning to escalate and there is just starting to be signs of nitrate. I understand that GSP can get out of control, the bottom rock is an island, in hopes of preventing it from expanding beyond. I intentionally placed the rock there, for the GSP. It is supposed to be a resilient coral and one that I love the look of (when it has it's own rock). I don't know of many chemical treatments for coral (In tank) but figured I could find a species of invert to tackle my issue. If the problem was beyond salvage, my plan was to remove the GSP restart the fallow. I just don't want to have to get a separate tank for coral QT just yet.
