Does this maxima look like it is gaping

I've had it about a week now don't know if he looks normal I have led lighting and he is on bottom of tank all params are in normal range

Yep it is very active. Just don't know enough to tell if it looks normal

OK I've read all that article but still not sure should he be more open than he is and his mouth is pretty much always opened. Sorry newbie on clams just want to make sure all is good. Thanks

Awesome thanks I am a little paranoid I had a small one that didn't make it. I was mainly concerned that he looks not too be open as far as most that I see pics of do they usually vary on how far they open on a clam by clam basis

Nop gaping, but mantle doesn't seem fully extended. I would also lookout for pinched mantle

OK thanks those were taken today I think first pic a fish swam by and he closed but lost my first clam so am really nervous. Lol does he look to be opened up normal amount I see pics with clams that are open so far they look flat
