Excuse the bad photos... Does this mean it is eating, or did I just scare it?
...and does it look happy/healthy to you?

Mine close up after feeding. This is normal reaction to feeding

Chris I have a Tracy and several mushrooms. They all curl up on their food. Like chewing with your mouth closed!

Thanks Shelley...I'm SOOO new to this, everything is SO exciting and there are so many questions along the way. I love that y'all are here to answer and support!

The elegance is full and beautiful tonight after another feeding...I think it may have eaten some snails! I'll try to give the shells an inspection tomorrow!

All corals close after food lands on them. Lps even shrink as there mouth expands to slurp the food down. Same goes with zoas, Nems, euphyllia, etc. looks happy:)

Elegance are known for eating snails, and pooping out the shell.

I have a snail shell graveyard around my 2 elegance's. They absolutely love some soft fleshy escargot!

For me their beauty far outweighs the price of a few snails every couple months.
