Does this stuff look clean enough?

So I am using pre-used equipment from an old tank. The tank wasn't what you would call... successful. So I've been cleaning this stuff with vinegar, peroxide, and water. I heard form somewhere that even algal spores live no matter what, and i don't know how accurate that information was. Anyway, I wanted to be on the safe side and share it with you. The only thing I think has some more cleaning to do is the filter motor and the triangular piece that fits onto the intake of the skimmer. Oh, and FYI, the filter isn't going to have any media in it. Just for surface agitation and a little flow.

I'm also bleaching and rinsing dry rock. Doing things right this time

FYI I think bleaching the rock was a bad idea....I have heard that the bleach residue is impossible to remove. That is why people do acid washes instead of bleach...but hopefully someone can chime in that knows more that what I have read in posts.

Bleach will evaporate pretty quickly

Most people use mystic acid because it actually dissolves the top layer of the rock. And can help release any bound phosphate

I bleached all of my rocks +\- 250-300lbs of them. After setting in bleach a couple of days with a powerhead moving the water I drained all the bleach water out and filled with RODI water and ran for a day. Got rid of the water again and repeated for a week. Took out the rock and let dry for 2 days in the hot florida sun. After all that mess I loaded them in the tank and started the cycle. Haven't ever had any issues with this process and have done it a couple of times with different tanks. If you still smell bleach on the rocks keep going.

If you bleach rocks, I strongly recommend soaking it in a good dechlorinator afterwards. Sodium thiosulfate works quite well. As the above said, if you still smell bleach it is not ready to use. Do you know what type of rock that is? I'm just curious. something looks a little odd to me about it.

+1 on the de chlorination forgot to put that in there.
