Does tiger or fighting conch need sand

I removed all sand from reef tank. will conch survive without sand our should I rehome? How about pistol shrimp?

Rehome, they will likely be stressed without the sand since they don't have a place to hide and die not to mention they'll probably scratch the bottom panel. I wouldn't do a pistol either they are nearly blind that's why the pair with gobies and with nothing to dig a burrow in they would never feel safe and always be stressed. Both of these are bottom feeders and can't get on the rocks easily so they might run out of food too.
