Does the rate of ALK consumption in a reef tank change with the time of day?

Does your light schedule effect ALK in the way that it effects pH?

Does ALK consumption go down, up or remain the same with the lights on? With the lights off?

Yep... answers my question. Thank you!

They are all really interwoven... Lights will increase photosynthesis which consumes more CO2. This raises PH levels and Alk consumption.

My Trident helped me to identify the daily alk swing, then I adjusted my dosing schedule to counteract the extra consumption during the day, so now my alk levels are very consistent day and night:

... which means that you have greater consumption during the "day" (Lights on) than at "night" (Lights off).

I need to dose 15ml daily to keep my ALK levels in the 8-8.5 range. I'll dispense it when the lights are moonlight mode.
