I have a 2nd hand red sea reefer.

The stand only supports the tank with the side and back pieces, the centre panel is not actually structurally supported apart from a IKEA-style couple screws holding it to the side. Over time, it seems the screw holes holding the top/center panel to the supporting sides have loosened up and the top dips 1mm forward at the front which you can just about see in these pictures. I have had a professional stand & tank builder over to look and he reckons it is fine as the back and sides are supported and the bottom glass is so thick. Just in case, I have added three planks of timber into the sump. Does this timber really require treating? Any advice about any of the set up appreciated!

The 1mm gap (got glue and old mat on it that needs scraping off)

You're good, but if you would like to paint them your would be even better. Especially the bottom edges on the floor, this will keep for water being suck up into the 2x4's over time.
