Hi there, this is one of my first posts...new to R2R but been around reefing for 20 years.

Just curious, now that I'm home/remote working, and play music, I've noticed more reaction in my tank during work hours. Not that I play it loud, and my genre is diverse. Just curious what/if everyone/anyone else has seen. Great to meet everyone :)

Wild reefs are a loud environment full of different noises and vibrations. Our reefs are loud to them too I’m sure but very monotoned with the same humming of the pumps. I wouldn't doubt the vibrations of the different music entertains and stimulates them

I have one of those sound machines in the cabinet under my tank. The kind that are designed to help you sleep. I have it going 24/7 with ocean sounds (waves crashing, etc). I keep the volume only loud enough to drown out the sound of pumps and such.
Im not really sure if the tank inhabitants notice but we like it. After all, you can’t really have a “piece of the ocean” in your living room without being able to hear it. LOL!

I tried playing Barry White for my clowns once but had no success.

Curious how you know the level of activity when you’re not home LOL. I don’t think music per se makes any difference. That you are walking around the tank more does. Even fish are smart enough to correlate movement with food.
