My tank has had an odd smell the last couple weeks or so. Something between the smell or coral slime and freshly cut grass is the best analogy I can come up with.

Am I the only one that has this scent?
Should I be worried?
Best way to combat this smell?

Am I the only one that has this scent? Maybe / Maybe Not ....... I dont have the smell or Im used to it and dont notice. Kinda like old folks home smell. I dont think they can smell it.
Should I be worried? Maybe/ Maybe Not...... depends on your house guests and others living with you.
Best way to combat this smell? My guess .....Carbon
Maybe a bacterial bloom

Maybe a bacterial bloom
In the past when I've experienced bacterial blooms the water was cloudy like someone dumped milk into it. Haven't had that issue in this tank! All coral is (but sps) doing fine, fish are fine and I have a filter bag with red Sea reef spec carbon.

Salinity is 1.025
Kh of 7.2dkh
Cal 410
Nitrates ~10
Phosphate 0- 0.02

Nice looking tank. The only thing that ever starts to smell on my tank is the skimmer when it needs a good cleaning. It smells similar to your description.

Agreed...either the skimmer itself or the skimmate locker is really the only thing I've ever smelled.

May be hard to tell, but is it the tank itself that smells, or is the odor coming from the sump area? Maybe an undetected spill or something in the sump area that has gone sour?

It's all in one, so the sump is essentially part if the display.

I noticed it yesterday when I did a waterchanges, it was really apparent when the water was going into the tote. The wife even commented on it from upstairs.. :/

I smelled the display tank by getting my nose as close as possible to the water and it's definitely coming from the water itself.

I don't care much that it smells, more so wondering if something is off in my tank that should be corrected :)

I'm running red Sea reef spec carbon in a bag! Considering switching to a reactor but I'm upgrading soon as well I want to wait for the new nyos reactor

I BRS ROX carbon and rowaphos in media bags.

2 less pieces of equipment!
