I'm not sure if I should be genuinely concerned or if I'm just being an over protective fish father, but I just added a dogface puffer to my FOWLR tank and he keeps going after my black ocellaris clowns. Not sure if it is just aggression or dominance being in a new tank. He was fed just before being added to the tank so I don't think he is starving for food. Any thoughts?

What size tank is it in? These guys grow to be a foot. They are aggressive to some extent. Keep lights off for 24 to 36 hrs and see if things change.

It could be curiosity, it could be aggression. It may settle down, it may get worse. Puffers are certainly very individualistic in behavior and temperament, but do lean to being more aggressive. If it doesn't get better in a day or two, then it likely won't get better.

They are in a 55 for the interm while I set up a bigger system. They seem to be doing much better so I'm hoping it was just curiosity... I will keep a very close watch

I will say ocellaris and puffers are not something i would typically mix as ocellaris are rather timid and small for a clown and puffers are well armed, semi aggressive to aggressive, and larger.

It can still be done, but as said you may just have an aggressive individual.
