Hey everyone, just got home from work to find my dogface puffer passed, and I have no idea why. He had no viable wounds, no discoloration, no ich. He was eating last night but this morning when I fed my fish he was just hiding in his little cave, I dont remember noticing any panting or anything but I could be wrong. He was in a tank with a PB Tang, regal angel, pair of clowns, zebra moray, anthias, and a porqupine puffer all of which are healthy and eating. I have an 180 gallon tank, with a uv filter, skimmer, algae scrubber, phosgard reactor and carbon reactor

Water parameters are as follows:
1.025 sg
0 ppm ammonia
.01ppm nitrites
18 ppm nitrates
.07 ppm phosphates
8 ph

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

RIP Flubber you will be missed
(Had a bit of an algae outbreak about 2 months ago)

That totally sucks. By far my favorite fish to add

Yeah... it's tough, especially when they recognize and interact with you.

I'm noticing in the picture that there is what appears to be green hair algae. How long ago was that photo taken?

About a month ago. My algae scrubber crapped out and I had a huge algae bloom I have since fixed my scrubber and trying to get the algae back under control. If you have any suggestions to speed up the process that would be great

Whatever you do, don't do it fast.

If your algae scrubber is back on line, help things along with small water changes. I prefer several small water changes over one big water change.

Sorry to hear. I lost my porcupine puffer suddenly after about 5 years. It was also a month after I upgraded his tank to a 210. I was heartbroken to say the least. I still don't know what happened. I watched the camera footage and it was almost like he had a stroke. He was swimming along and just turned upside down and floated to the bottom. [emoji26]Anybody that has had a puffer knows they are more pets than fish.

I did get another one because the tank was making me sad. I did the hand feeding thing when he was small, but not anymore!

My opinion is that you just keep the porcupine. You have a 180 and I think you were going to run into space issues in a year or two.

Could the porcupine not like the dog face? or any other fish like the Pb tang for that matter. Maybe an internal parasite

How long has the tank been set up?

Any white, stringy poop noted from it or any other inhabitants?

Anyone hiding from light? Heavy breathing? Spots? Do you quarantine?

Sorry for your loss
