Just scored 150 lbs of previously live rock and sand all for $150!! Man does it pay to be patient. Saves my piggy bank some more room for lights.

I was going to look up a few ways on here. It looks really clean and white. I’ve heard of bleaching it and then cleaning it and letting it soak but I am open to hear whatever.Nice! What’s your plan for cleaning it? I’m a big fan of curing in saltwater but that takes at least 6 weeks.
I really have plenty of time, I am in no rush. I have yet to get an RODI system as I am waiting for a sale. From there it will be saving for a hydra 26 and then adding a second. Slow process. What kind of timeline are you on? I strongly advise against acid washing. I’m not a fan of bleach but it certainly does work. Is this rock all dry?
Could I essentially cure it in the tank with the water flowing without starting the cycle?Cool cool. I’d go the curing route then. Just fill a tub with saltwater, can be 1.015 or a little higher to save on salt. The rock will become love again and most of the crud will get eaten up. Just change the water in there once in a while and shake the rocks off when you do. You’ll come out the other end with totally live rock that will speed or even eliminate your cycle.

Thanks engineer! You are extremely helpful. I may have to go get a big trash can and start that process.Curing is cycling. We call it cycling when it is in a tank and curing when it is in something else. Don’t ask me why, I didn’t choose the names
I’ve always done it in other containers so that I have less water to change out and I can futz with the tank.
