The water I am adding is only 0.001 lower than the current tank water. Is this fine to add in? By how much can the newly mixed saltwater be off by and still be okay to add?

.001 what? ppm?

Whatever your using to measure it, that's acceptable. If you do a 10% water change with that water, you are only changing the salinity by such a small amount its negligible.

of the salinity. 1.025 is the mixed saltwater salinity or 1.026 is the tanks salinity

Yeah I do this all the time with a 20% change because it’s still within the acceptable limits of salinity. Shouldn’t be a problem. I match within .001 but always between .024-.026

Thank you!

yep. it's fine. Same goes for temp too. If you're off 0.001 or 0.002 on salinity ... or +/- 1 or 2 degrees temp ... for a 20% or less water change it won't have any affect because your only changing a small amount of water.

Absolutely fine.

Specific gravity is the term to use in this case, FYI.
