So how fast do these fish grow? I bought a 1.5 inch one off DD and it is the smallest fish I have owned. Figure it's the length of my neon goby. This thing would get lost in my reefer 170. Do you think it would do okay in a reefer 425 xxl for a bit to grow out before going into the 750xxl.?

Here is a picture of the fish on the corner of a 20 gallon long tank.

I had one years ago, and they grow pretty quickly as juveniles. As long as they have plenty of algae to graze on, you should be fine... I'd leave out a sheet of it on a clip to supplement. The inky concern with its size that I would have is that significantly larger fish, especially tangs could outcompete it for food. Other than that, should be fine.

Right now based on its size do you think it would do okay and probably better of in a reefer 450? Its a 5ft long tank. I honestly think between my lyertail and wrasses in the 750 the fish will be so spooked it will just hide and wither away. I had a 4 inch gold spot that jumped ship and never settled in the 750.

I never had a problem, but you can definitely keep it in the smaller tank until it puts on some size... Peace of mind is never a bad thing.
