Often Petco and I suppose others have a sale on their standard rectangular aquariums for $1 a gallon. Is there any reason that these can not / should not be used for mixed reef setups?
I love the ease and look of AIO tanks but larger ones get pretty expensive.

90% of them are good tanks. You’re always going to find one or two with sloppy seams. Just look through them before picking it out.

Only thing I don't like about them is you need to check if the glass is tempered or not. You have to check yourself and it can be mixed. Other than that, its a great deal! Especially if you want to build a sump. Aqueon is the brand the petcos carry here.

Great deal for a tank I think.

Ive broken them before they aren't tempered

Its been that way for awhile i think.

I got a 55 there a couple years ago for the dollar deal. My petco might have different terms though. Within the last year they never keep anything over 55, half the time they don’t have those. But the one in the next county south is always stocked with 75s. So I don’t know
