Domino damsel turned white

I have had my domino black damsel for about a year and a half very suddenly he has turned white he was fine last night he is acting fine swimming fine things are OK just lost his coloring Any ideas should I get him out of the tank?

He starting to darken up again but that was the weirdest thing I have ever seen

It could be a number of things.
1. Stressed/Ammonia poisening
2. Low Salinity
3. fish are weird sometimes and their colors can change somedays but will usually go back to normal. Damsel's are tough little suckers. if she's acting like her normal self dont worry too much. Just watch her.

My salinity is good
I don’t have a lot in my tank just three fish One softy coral and a ton of hermit crabs so I can’t see my ammonia levels being high if my nitrates are good don’t nitrate levels and ammonia levels run hand-in-hand ?

Right, its probably not ammonia then. It could be like I said, just fish being weird. She's acting completely normal? Eating fine, etc.
 
Yes back to normal color now to!
 
Dominoes do change color, as a social signal. The local public aquarium used to have a breeding pair, and they'd go white when they were spawning or defending eggs. Not sure that's the case with yours, as it seems to be solo . . .
