I would have poured it into a bottle or thermos. I do think there is always the other side of the story where the passenger was not as much of a victim as they make out to be.

yes. unfortunately, the airlines have final say on what they’ll allow, regardless of tsa rules.
No doubt... but TSA is not the issue with this.
BTW - I have brought corals on Southwest. I took them out for TSA to look at and then they went right back into my soft-sided lunch cooler and into my carry-on bag. Southwest never even knew.

How in the heck would anyone ever know? Kind of a baloney story, very important details are missing, she had to be show boating the fish around and had it improperly packed. SWA never pulls stunts like this. I’m an employee of the airline and we ships thousands of fish per day around the country. My fish store in Tampa ONLY ships through SWA. Had bad results with every other carrier.

nobody is going to showboat a betta. lol. but i’m guessing she was carrying it around and it was seen. she probably thought since it got through screening she was good.

An airline representative told Yahoo Lifestyle, “On Friday, a Customer attempted to bring a pet fish onboard their flight from Denver to San Diego. Our Customer Service Agents informed the Customer about Southwest’s pets policy which does not allow for live fish to travel in the passenger cabin. Our Team offered to re-book the Customer for a later flight to allow them to make arrangements for their pet but the Customer refused that option. The Customer eventually traveled on their originally scheduled flight.”
I guess she didn't love her fish enough to make the later flight?

I read the story on Yahoo news and in the story I read, the gal made arrangements for another person on another flight to take the fish.
Then I guess SWA reps followed them to make sure they didn't meet before the flight to arrange a pre-flight exchange.
