Just a friendly reminder this stuff while is one of my favorite corals, just such a pain in the a**. It takes over everything and smothers it. The only coral I've seen over take it is a green hairy mushroom. So if you are thinking about getting some, put it on the back of your aquarium or don't get it all. It's very hard to peel off rocks

I saw somebody years ago make a GSP "tree" so I followed suit: a tall column of rock, isolated from the rest. The GSP colonized it happily and hasn't escaped the tree over however many years it's been.

Yeah, GSP is nice if you understand how quickly it grows. If you put it on your main rockwork, it will most likely cover everything that doesn't sting it back. Some people like GSP only tanks though. For those that don't, a rock island will help isolate it. Having a sand bottom will facilitate easy trimming in that case too.

When you want to get rid of a patch stick a BTA or a leather in the middle of it.

GSP back walls add a lot of splash in my opinion. Also makes a wild environment for pods and other critters behind the "wall".
