Hello all, Im getting back into reefing after a 3 year hiatus due to change in careers and a new house plus getting married. I have finally convinced my wife to let me start up a tank again so I'm starting small with a DBP 7.5 rimless. I have all the old equipment and I am starting very slowly. Unfortunately 3 years later and I feel lost in this fast paced hobby. So...help me stock this little bad boy. As of now I would like fish that max size would be 2.5 in. I am thinking 1 helfrichi dart fish and 1 Tanaka's pygmy wrasse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Two Spot Blenny, Barnacle Blenny, Yellow line Goby and Sexy shrimps.

Yellow clown goby, green clown goby, and high fin goby and pistol shrimp pair.

Green chromis, blue reef chromis, clownfish

If you like wrasses, I've always liked the pink-streaked wrasse. They kid of remind me of a smaller, non-aggressive 4 or 6-line wrasse.

Do you think the two fish I mentioned will work in this sized tank?

So My 7.5 is fully cycled now but I just got the ok from my wife to get a small larger tank so I am now planning a new tank. Great news but more work. I have decided on a DBP 30g RR frag tank. I need it to be a shallow tank thats 12" or less basically. Anyone have any other ideas? I like deeper tanks better than tall. For this tank I would like to get 1 of 2 options. Either a fairy wrasse like a Rhomboid, johnsons, or hooded. Second option is a mccoskers flasher and a blue flasher. I have read these are two of the more peaceful flashers and stay under the 3" mark. Any thoughts?

That tank doesn't give much room for active wrasses, such as fairy or flasher species. Also, the tank needs to be completely covered, as they are notorious jumpers. If you do try a fairy or flasher, only get 1 for that size tank.

As for lighting the 30g tank. Its 24x24x12 and i will have mainly sps dominant. Should i do ai hudra 52 or 26? My aquascape will be mainly in the center of the tank
