Ok so the title is clickbait sorry.
I do care about this tank.
Original tank leaked and this was my temp tank until the replacement is completed.
Tank specs.
110G, no sump, no skimmer, just a Fluval FX6 for mechanical filtration.
Triton method, ATO, and two Gyre XF280 for flow.
Maybe 80 pounds of rock with a bare bottom.
Lighting is a Hamilton hybrid T5 and 250W MH combo
Fish
One Potters Angel
One Banggai
CUC
Two adult Peppermint shrimp
9 Very large Trochus Snails
Corals include
Two Zoas
Blasto
Hammer
Mushrooms
One monte that I accidentally broke tranfering from the leaking tank and has not done well but is trying to make a comeback. Clearly some pieces of monte were transfered and I have some tiny ones growing now.
Did not expect that to happen.
Well my replacement tank is cycling and the day is coming of what to do with the temp tank and its inhabitants.
So, I have grown fond of the temp tank over the past six eight months, even though its not setup well, filtration is inadequate, and maintenance has been fair.
So my problem is I may decide to just keep it the way it is and let it mature into its full glory.
Clearly I have not been too concerned on the algae growth as I had planed to take the tank apart after the livestock was removed and start from scratch, bleaching the tank and rock.
Well I don't know what way to go to rid the algae on my rocks.
Do I up the game with Hermits, and more fish.
Go the route of additives.
Or stick to the original plan?
First two pics I had the flash on the third and others were without.
I know I should have cleaned the glass first.
My corals
Parent Monte in sad shape but still alive and growing.
Young Montes growing
This is the new 140G in its 8th day of the nitrogen cycle.
So looking for advice on the best way to get the Temp tank cleaned up.
Thanks.....
