I scrape and scrape and it keeps coming back. Ten gallon water changes a week using BRS 5 stage RODI unit.
Instant ocean Sea salt

There is a window not too far from the tank but that window faces north in the sun here goes from east to west don’t have direct sunlight

Not uncommon for such a new tank, how many fish and what size are they? What and how often are you feeding? Plenty of nutrients are feeding the algae even though your Nitrate is testing 0. Have you tested phosphates? Is your skimmer producing much waste?

Three green chromis. Two clowns. Royal gromen. Hermit crabs. Feeding pellets once a day. Frozen every other. What they can eat in under 3 minutes. Will check phosphates in the morning and respond

As others have said just clean the glass and let the rocks be. The tank is still very young and it will take time to mature and grow the good coraline algae instead of the green stuff.

What do you have for a clean up crew? You possibly up it to eat more of the algae.

What do you run in the fx4? You probably don’t really need the canister filter, the rock/sand will be your bio filter and the Tunze skimmer will help pull out the nasties.

Phosphates are what is feeding your algae, I would throw in a couple of emerald crabs, a lawnmower blend and an urchin or two. They will mow that stuff up. Everyone is correct in that your tank needs time to mature. You can always remove the extra CUC.

Unfortunately adding the emerald crab is probably not a good idea since I had to treat my tank with copper a month ago. Lesson learned to start a quarantine tank before you add a fish. I could do the Blaney, but I would have to construct a lid first. If I’m not mistaken those fish are known for jumping

Agreed, water changes and GFO reactor or a refugium or algae scrubber will really help lower phosphates. You will like the results[emoji1303]

You may want to do a triton water test on your RODI water just to make sure the unit is functioning properly.
