Hi, everyone.
I've been racking my brains trying to figure out why I have no luck with simple corals that most of you on here could probably grow in a bucket.
Finally looked at the lighting.
And realized that the LEDs were upside down and the only light getting into the tank was reflecting off the lid.
It's like a new world now. The fish look much brighter and even happier.
I'll get some more softies soon. Don't trust myself with acans yet unless you can convince me to have a go?

Glad you figured it out - Good luck

If you're growing coraline, you can probably grow acans. They're not super fussy, and coraline is a good indicator that conditions are at least somewhere near right for stony corals. Both require nutrients and skeleton-building elements, and coraline generally doesn't grow enthusiastically in immature tanks.

This is amazing. I'm watching the GSP actually turn green and seeing more polyps on the green zoa than ever before. Nothing yet with the orange zoa but I think it's long dead.
Still, I know now what the problem was.
Suppose I'm gonna get problem algae now!!!

Glad you were able to shed some light on the issue.
