Don't put your tank near the kitchen!

I put my tank right across from my kitchen. I went from being an amazing cook to one that burns half the meals she makes.
I'm shocked at how a "quick peek" at the tank turns into many minutes away from cooking food.

I try to find the positive in everything......a new kind a diet! If you're burning it, you're not eating it, and losing pounds.....move your tank to the kitchen and watch the pounds drop off.

My 56 tall is in the dinning room, nano aling with 180 are in the living room.

I have a 75 in dining room and a 150 in living room with a open floor plan so can see both from kitchen. Maybe thats why I have been burning my food more, ummmmm food for thought.

Luckily my tank is not visible from the kitchen or I would prolly do this all the time lol.

My 180 peninsula is visible from all living areas including the kitchen and we eat dinner right in front of it Many times I have been sidetracked whilst cooking! The 45g softy tank is in the formal dining room and definitely takes a back seat to the 180.

Yep this is how mine is setup. Plus it's in the living room and can watch it while listening to the TV

My tang tank sort of breaks up my kitchen and living area/great room. It's a very large area and the tank is the focal point. It's a white 180.

Aside from toast and spaghetti I am not much good at cooking

My 120gal system is located in the basement family room area, but it also causes this same distraction.
If I'm in my office and I need to go upstairs, I have to walk past the tank.
So when it gets late in the evening and I should go up and see the family before bedtimes, I need to pass the tank when the lights are ramping down and all of the corals are glowing red, orange and green. I intend to sit down and observe the tank for a "little" while which sometimes turns into an hour or so. So by the time I get upstairs, the family is all in bed. Oops.

My 90 is at the far end of the kitchen, but in order to cook my back has to be turned away from it. Fortunately this means I can't be distracted by those crazy fish (and they can't see when we're having seafood for dinner...)

But I mainly eat Sonic, so I don't have to worry about over cooking

My 210 is in the basement. Each afternoon I go there, shut off the return pump and feed the tank. Pop open a cold beer and relax until it's time to restart the pump.

I recently went out to a restaurant and sat right next to a freshwater, 100 gallon fish tank loaded with big fat goldfish. I rather enjoyed having dinner next to a blah tank like that. I can imagine the experience being much better with a reef tank. Still, I would like to have some ventilation for the tank. I would rather have a more clean smell where I eat.

my tank is down in my "man cave" so no worries about cooking but it's two feet from the tv and I find myself using the rewind button a lot.
