Dont think this is really a "critter"

Honesty don't know what this is. I thought an operculum at first but it kinda looks like half a pearl? It's fairly brittle. I'm not concerned really, just curious.

Unless it came from( you got this in the wild, or somebody had) a pearl oyster, unlikely.
 
That's the ' pearl' as you call it from a dead snail, I think cerith snail, I have found a couple of these in my aquarium, nothing to worry about, deffenitly not a critter :)

I wasn't worried, but I don't have any cerith snails lol

Yes, sorry it's the hatch/ of snails, it's a weird looking thing that's very hard to the touch, harder than the shell itself... It does look like a pearl given its colour and shape, especially when turned in the light, it's a great piece of a dead snail, especially when you have not seen one before, a delightful find :)

Yeah the operculum, that's what I figured, but I had a much larger Mexican grazing snail who died and it didn't look anything like that so I was just double checking
