Well no I don't worry the oceans are full of parasites and bacteria. I try to feed really healthy food, live black worms live white worms and fresh sea weed and plankton I kind of follow the Paul B method look up his 47 year old tankDoes the knowledge of the presence of ick just lurking, does that worry you whenever you think of adding a new fish? I know I have ick in my tank as well the remaining survivors haven’t shown any sign of it for 6 months. It’s just so strange for it to wipe out half my fish very quickly, yet the remaining fish show no signs for so long. Can’t catch them out so mine live with it too!
That’s what I worry about adding a new fish always adds some stress. Some fish develop immunity and can carry for long time without ever showing signs. But for some reason either stress or addition of new fish etc it can trigger a mass outbreak again.
While some people can be successful with this, it's playing with fire. Sure the oceans have parasites but the density of fish is so much lower that major outbreaks are unlikely, whereas in our tanks it seems like there can always be one fish with relatively weak immune system that can tilt the balance in the parasites' favor and risk a tank wipeout.Well no I don't worry the oceans are full of parasites and bacteria.
