Dormant sps frag for 8 weeks.... now this.

As title said, picked up a high lighter acro frag from a meet about 8 weeks ago.

No PE, no growth, no recession just flat dormant.

Then yesterday this (See pics below) lots of PE but also white string from 3-4 polyps.

Any ideas ??

Looks like filament to me. I haven't seen a sps exude that much before.

I've got a dormant sps frag for 2 months or so as well. I'd be super happy to see it do anything at all, even this. Give it time and I think you'll be fine.

Mesenterial filaments. Feeding response or its irritated. As MTBake stated above it should be fine.

Cool, I just started feeding reef roids last week so maybe it’s a response to this.

I also felt the the huge swing to lots of PE was a good thing, just likewise never seen this much from an SPS before.

Observe it closely. The filament release could be from stress. The increased PE could be from lack of effectively exchanging gas - not all PE is a good thing, but it usually is.
