DOS Alerts

So I have the Apex EL with the DOS and DDR reservoir. And I am struggling to figure out how to setup alerts when the levels get low. I have my DOS plugged into one of the EB832 outlets, and I have the switches on my fusion dashboard, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it send me an alert when the reservoir is low.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Have you created virtual outlets for the sensors? You need to assign a virtual outlet to each sensor first then address alerts as you would for any other outlet. Configure a time of the alerts as well so you do not get incessant alerts or only get alerts when you can do something about it.

If your DDR is working correctly, you should have two new switches in your new tile section. The names will be similiar to SwxY_1 and SwxY_2 (you can rename them to anything you want.) Those switches have a OPEN and CLOSED status. You use that in your alert programming section. My optical sensors failed so many times (and had to be replaced/fixed by Neptune) that I got sick of them and ripped them out lol.

Replace with mechanical float switches and hook up o a BOB...

You can do it this way, so as to only give you 'container low' alerts at certain times of the day.

[DDRLLowTimer]
Set OFF
If DDRLLo OPEN Then ON
If Time 08:02 to 13:59 Then OFF
If Time 14:02 to 19:59 Then OFF
If Time 20:02 to 07:59 Then OFF

Then in your alert code, add:

If Output DDRLLowTimer = ON Then ON

This will alert you to the container being low at 8 AM, 2 PM, and 8 PM.

You could either put the second optical sensor in the same VO, or make a second one for it.

As mentioned though, these optical sensors have a pretty bad track record when used in the DDR. Many many people have had them fail, including myself. It is possible to replace them with a bit of DUI effort, rather than sending the whole thing in to be repaired. But when the sensor I replaced the previous bad sensor with also failed, I decided not to replace them again. I personally do not believe that the Apex optical sensors are meant to be submerged at all; they are meant to be installed through a bulkhead. Also if either of the optical sensors in your DDR go bad, the DDR graphic will disappear from Fusion. So if your container graphic inexplicably isn't there anymore some day, that's the most likely cause.
