I setup a test tank to get AWC work with my DOS. I used the task to setup a schedule to get an idea what this can do

I setup to do a one gallon water change. I used the minimal settings (45 minutes)
S0 far it is working but I see that the one gallon is start and stop spread out over the 45 minute window.

Default wanted to run up until 11:59
What is best practice
1. let a 1 gallon change over 45 minutes?
2. spread the change out over a few hours?

I was hoping that if I give it more time that the pump heads would run slower and quieter but that doesn't seem to be the case or am I doing something wrong??

I'm leaning towards doing the 1 gallon change in the quickest time possible unless the is a good reason to let it go all day

what would give me the best results?

Its it a good idea to suspend the ATK while its running.. so far with testing, the water level is not changing

The longer you spread it out, the slower the DOS will run, so it will be less loud. The DOS has 6 speeds (7, 12, 25, 60, 125, and 250 mL/min), and it calculates the slowest speed needed to move the water in the time allocated.

There's no need to disable the ATO since the DOS is adding and removing the same volume at the same time, so any change in water level should only be due to evaporation.

I would assume changing 1 gallon over 12 hours should really quiet it down then.
other than having the DOS run at slower speeds, is spreading out a 1 gallon change beneficial?
