Ok so trying to make this setup as safe as possible. Just set up for 24h cycle 1g/day With the wizard.

Possible options include:
-float switch in bottom of NSW tank to shut off DOS if empty.
-float switch in bottom of ATO reservoir to shut off in event of blockage in NSW line causing ATO to make up all of removed water.

Alternatively a local club member suggested I could do my AWC in a set period overnight, have ATO off during that time, and have a high and low level float in my return chamber to shut off DOS if anything goes wrong. I do have a new BRS edition Apex EL as a backup so I could use the 2 float switches from that for this application.

Any input or help with programming language would be appreciated.

I wouldn’t stop your ATO overnight as then evaporation isn’t being addressed and you’re likely to see salinity swings depending on the size of your setup. I don’t have redundancies for my DOS AWC setup, maybe that’s a bad thing. It’s only been running a few weeks but I’ve been amazed at the precision. I was expecting my ato to be kicking in and out but it will run through a cycle and the ato doesn’t kick on at all. My plan is to re-calibrate the DOS monthly and increased salinity checking with my refractometer. One thing I will note is that the thing is stupid loud! For that reason, I have set it to run only from 12am to 8am anyway.

If I were to do anything for redundancy, I’d put a pair of float switches in my return chamber, one for high level and one for low. For the low switch to be triggered the ATO would have to shut itself off. My Tunze ATO will kick off after 5 minutes of continuous use. This isn’t perfect as 5 minutes of dilution would have occurred, but I think it’s better than not running an ATO every single night.
