I hooked up my brand new dos this last week. Was pretty excited to switch back to 2 part. I’ve been checking alkalinity daily since I switched from a calc reactor. I have also been checking calcium which seemed really low 2 days ago so I upped the dose. In fusion it appears that everything is dosing properly. I happened to be in my filtration room yesterday and heard a strange noise from the DOS. Making noise and the head not spinning not dosing anything. I removed the heads and tried to use the manual button and it made the same noise and did not spin. The other pump was still working dosing my alk. So today now the other pump is doing the same thing. I turned the calc reactor back online. Anyone else experience anything like this with the dos?

you said its brand new!!! sent it back for warranty. they will figure it out what wrong with it. Though it sounds like stepper motors are not working properly. did any water or liquid got spilled in it?

I have this happen at least once a week (if it is the same issue)....have been using it for almost a year. My issues are corrected by cutting power to it and plugging it back in. I am to the point now where I hit the manually button at least once a day to make sure the heads are working correctly. Twice I have missed it only to find out that ALK or CA wasn't dosing for a week :(

No water damage or anything like that. They are cross shipping me a new one. My concern is if the pump will be reliable long term

Incidence to failure is typically a standard bell curve. There will always be some that fail quickly and some that 'never' fail ..... they're outliers. The key is what is the median point. That will dictate, on average, the useful life. I'm unconvinced that these are all that robust, mine has started to fail after only about 6 months (though for now it remains usable) ..... but it is a sample size of one.
