I set up my DOS and avast Kalk stirrer. I have a reefer 170 (roughly 34 gallons display) and 24 one inch frags. I have the DOS set to dose 80ml over a 24 hr period ( trying to find my starting point, I can adjust this up or down accordingly). However, you can see in the video that when the pump runs it doesn’t push water (kalk) out of the outlet tube. I’ve disconnected everything and everything works individually but not understanding what’s wrong with the setup? Is it a simple matter of increasing the amount of ro/di being pushed into? I guess my concern is I thought all day I was getting drips of kalk every 17 minutes only to find I wasn’t getting any kalk into my tank. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

For some reason the videos don't show for me. How is your RO being provided to the reactor?

O

You know it comes out super slow when your priming it. Maybe switch to dos outlet to on and then see if eventually it'll come out

I use a 30 gallon container to store my kalk, and use the dos just as a dosing pump. I thought about trying the reactor.

It's either the dos isn't pushing much water in, or something to do with pressure witch doesn't seem right. Definitely turn the outlet on to see if the higher speed can get it to let some water out. Then we can remove the flow issue through the unit.

I'm using a DOS on my Avast kalk stirrer. I've found that kalkwasser doesn't always come out when the pump runs and believe it's due to surface tension in the stirrer. Small additions of water don't always raise the level in the stirrer enough for it to drain. 80 ml per day is a very small amount of liquid, so I'd bet that the issue is your individual doses just can't overcome surface tension.

That makes sense, this is my first time using this setup so I wasn’t sure if 80ml was considered a lot . What I’ll do is bump it up to make sure I get output everytime regardless of the ml

I wouldn't adjust FOR that. Adjust your dosing based on what your water tests tell you. Keep your regular calcium test schedule, but check alk at least a few times per week and preferably daily while you tune your dosing.

Out of curiosity what are you doing ml per day and over what time frame?
