Ok so i have seen a few posts by people with a dose pump they use for auto water changes that has a two diff dose hoses running with one motor. I love the set up and have been planning on using a dose pump to do small amounts of constant water changes through the week. But was always worried about a normal one. Of getting 2 diff ones just because it just gives it an extra point of fail. But i can not find the pump anywhere that everyone else is using. Any help finding it would help greatly. Ty

I have a pretty easy set up on my tank for small auto water changes. I set this up every other week, approximately 25g each time. It works for my set up because of the way my sump is configured.

First off, I measured a 2 gallon fluctuation in my sump and set up my fresh water ATO float switch at the high with a low flow aqua lifter pump and a slightly lower about .25" float switch for saltwater on a maxi jet 600. I use a maxi jet 1200 on a timer to pump out about 1 gallon of water once per day, which is roughly about 7 seconds (takes some tweaking and measuring)

The water will come from ATO and New Saltwater before the entire 2 gallons are removed, but I have them dumping in at opposite end of sump. I expect very little if any new water gets removed during my process. I also believe that the amount of freshwater that makes it from the ATO is trace compared to how much faster the maxi jets work to remove and replenish the water. I find my salinity remains constant and pH/Alk stay pretty consistent as well.

Good luck finding what works for you! :)

This is interesting. Is there anyway you can show us how you did this? Pictures, video? For some of us that don't have, can't afford or no room for a fish room this sounds great! Where does the old water empty to?

Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread Sleeperr34 .

Not at all. Was wondering the same. Any ideas and help with an auto water change system would help a lot.
