I currently have a very low demand 80 gallon total volume tank. Coral wise I have a flowerpot, two Duncan heads, an open brain, two separate Zoa frags with about 15-20 heads, Xenia colony, and a GPS colony. I have some halimeda algae and coralline is starting to grow in spots.
I feel like I have my levels stabilized for about two weeks now. Dosing 10 ml daily BRS soda ash and 10 ml BRS calcium and 5 gallon water changes weekly with reef crystals. With that my levels are 1300 mg, 430mg, 9.2 dkh.
Now the reef colors according to BRS should be dosed 1ml per 50ml of calcium so that would come out to 1ml every 5 days. My question is, is it worth the effort for such a small load? I do have red, greens, blues, and purples. So there is a chance it could help with colors and coral health. But it just seems like such a small amount to make any kind of difference.
