so i dosed cal by mistake and it shot my levels to 536 and made my alk swing down to 7.5 from 8.5. everything looks fine but should i be worried?

do i need to do a heavy water change or just wait for the levels to drop?

I would not be concerned at all. Would dose some alk slowly. It will get it back up a bit and also probably cause more precipitate and bring the calcium down a bit also.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. I'd be more worried about the drop in Alk than the high Cal. You could dose some Alk to try to raise the level, but I would probably just increase the amount of Alk your normally dosing a little bit until until the level gets where you want it, and discontinue dosing Cal until it falls to an acceptable level. @Randy Holmes-Farley, what do you think?

ive been dosing api essentials #1 by .3 every 3 hours or so, its not raising the alk at all

It is likely causing precipitate and your calc dropping. There is a lot more calc water than alk though so harder to see the small changes in calc especially with the variation of our test kits
