I have 2 Reef Factory Dosers and I’ve started to notice that during calibration I need to fill the circuit prior to running the calibration cycle. I did this just after my dosing schedule had run and discovered there was no liquid in the tubing the goes into my sump.

This has got me wondering if the doser has been dosing at all and instead the pump is running but because there is no liquid in the circuit nothing makes it to the sump.

I contacted the manufacture who suggested reducing the height difference between the pump and container which I don’t think I can do, but I‘m curious if anyone else has run into this sort of problem and what they did to solve it or how they have their dosers setup in the first place.

The line should be full on both sides to the doser head. If not the rollers squeezing the line is not pressing on the tube enough. Causing the vacuum of the pump to drain the liquid out of one side of the pump.
