Looking to upgrade my dosers I had from BRS.
As of the moment I have my mind set on the Vertex Libra.
I'm a little in the dark about the two versions they have, DC motor and the more pricey stepper motor.
They do as I read both the same thing but what is the difference.
Any body here can fill me in on that?
Thanks a bunch.

Thanks for the bump.

Btw, I found out that the stepper it's a bit more accurate than the DC motor.
Right now you get 10% off at BRS for the stepper only.

I have the stepper motor and its has medical grade dosing accuracy. Which means if you set it to dose 30ml it'll dose 30ml on the nose. The other motor is reliable but is as accurate as the stepper motor but its more accurate then any other doser on the market. I hope this helps.

Very pricey. I use these http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-2-part-doser-1-1-ml-per-minute.html. Been using them for about 18 months with Ca, Mg, Alk, and red seas N03P04X. 0 issues, no leaks, no back siphoning, accurate dosing every time. I even bought replacement tubes at the time of purchase which I haven't even had to use a single one yet.

I had the BRS dosers but with my 25k tank I needed the dosers upgrade, went with the stepper. That machine is spot on and love the look of it.

Stepper motors are far more accurate. For example, if you use a DC motor and dose 100ml and you measure exactly what was dosed, you will get numbers like:
1. 90ml
2. 104ml
3. 110ml
4. 103ml
5. 95ml

Whereas with the stepper motor, you will get 100% accurate (or within 1ml) every single time. If you have a bigger tank and you have SPS and dose a ton of 2 part or whatever, you don't need the stepper motor because it isn't going to make a difference. If you have a tiny nano and every ml counts, stepper motor is going to be more useful.

Also, if you are using it for food or something besides 2 part, you may want the accuracy of the stepper motor. Even on my 20g only dosing 20mg/day of 2 part, the DC motor driven Bubble Magus keeps me within 0.2 dkh any given time.

ended up getting GHL ProfiLux instead

Hope you don't have issues I have never dropped mine, never gotten it wet and I have dead pixels and it is dosing 17ml in the 20sec. test and not dosing the amount it's told.

IMO it's totally inaccurate.

I have emailed asking to send it in a few times and all they want to do is trouble shoot over and over.I need a solution and they have not give me any after a half dozen email. I have done every test and they just try to blame the user LOL this is actually almost dummy proof.

I just want it fixed I'm not even trying to get it done for free I will pay no problem is not about money at all. In fact if they told me it was gonna cost 150.00 to send it in I would do it.

I'm actually about ready to smash it and send GHL a pic of what I think about their service and product.

Has anyone ever Opened one up it's really a joke for what you pay!

Overpaying for this junk was the only user error IMO.
