Dosing 2 Part - Part 1 precipitate question/help

I have been dosing two part for about a month now. I noticed every time i does part 1 (alk) i get some precipitate on the water surface. is there a common cause for this? low mag?

btw, i just started (day 7) of dosing zeovit lps amino acids and pohls extra. these products are awesome for someone with a low nutrient tank. the colors have all increased and pe. the number 1 difference to me is my chalices look much more healthy and meaty.

Precipitate from the alkalinity portion is normal. I usually pour my 2 part doses into the overflow box. I figure it mixes pretty well in the turbulent first chamber of my sump.

Yes, I mix mine directly into my mp10 (no sump). There is no precipitate until the liquid (part 1) hits the tank water. I dont think it is normal but at the same time i do not know if it is something i need to worry about.

test your mag. low mag with cause the cal/alk to be unstable and you'll see oddities in your tank. if you keep your mag around 1400 ppm, you'll notice less algae growth as well. people dose two part but it really should be three part imo.

I dose two part, but I stopped dosing Mg since switching from Instant Ocean salt mix to NSW. The NSW comes in high in Mg and only fluctuates slightly.Depending on your salt brand and certain Mg hungry corals, you may or may not need to dose Mg
