I am going to start dosing acropower to see if my sps pieces will look a bit better. Im going to start with half the recommended dose per week which for me would be 5ml. Is it better to dose all 5ml once per week or break it up a couple times a week?

Depends. If weekly water changes are done, then all at once.
So right when I started dosing Acropower and I dose less than recommended and less per week than they recommended I just happen to have a Cyno outbreak. Related? I don’t know I always have po4 around .03 and no3 at 5-8 had not changed any regiment for four months prior and only added a smallish Mille right before. Took me the last month of fighting and 2 chemiclean doses to almost get rid of. I want to keep dosing cause my SPS seemed to like it but kinda scared to dose again.

That is exactly why I stopped dosing acro power and all the other amino acids and coral food. Just stick to the basics and feed your fish pretty heavy and maintain stable parameters and detectable n03 and p04 and your sps will look great and won’t have to deal with algae scrubbers , gfo, refugiums etc. look how WWC runs their systems there’s a reason why they don’t use any of that stuff...

I dose 5.5ml each day in my 100g sps system. Sps seem to love it. When I started I saw immediate increased poly extension within a few hours. I started with 1ml a day and slowly increased it. Now holding steady. I have been battling a very light case of dinos since I started dosing but I think its largely due to my nitrates and phosphates being undetectable. I have since been dosing brightwell neophos and neonitrate and the dinos are slowly going away.
