So I'm now drifting to the world of dosing. I manually hit my tank w Alkalinity every other night. 10ml. Wanna dose Calcium and I just purchased the Kamoer X1 Pro due to lack of space under my tank. Want to dose Calcium but not sure how much and how often. Can anyone lend some advice?

Test your calcium right after a water change, then test it again right before your next water change. That will show you how much calcium you need to replenish between water changes, like how much your tank is using. Then I use the dosing calculators on the bulk reef supply website to determine how much to dose.

Or, use All for Reef by Tropic Marin. It’s an all in one, that’s also balanced & provides 17 different elements including calcium, magnesium & alkalinity. Amazing stuff!

Do you recommend the salt change during water changes?

Salt change? I’m not sure I understand you?

All for Reef is a one part dosing solution. It’s based on a bio-chemical approach to dosing, and helps to maintain stable water chemistry between water changes.

Fwiw, I use HW Marine salt.

Disregard, I read and saw Tropic Marin and automatically reverted to the salt. Lol. I use ESV products. Alkalinity I manually do, gonna start a line for calcium and might do the magnesium manually also. But that product contains all 3?

Hi,

I use ESV. Great product. The alk and calcI are designed to be dosed on a 1:1 ratio. You should start with determining you weekly consumption, then devide by seven. That will give a daily consumption. You can then set up 2 of the x1 dosers to dose the alk and calc at different times of the day on a 1:1 ratio.

This is a good plan.
Before triton, I used b ionic 2 part, which is dosed in equal parts. 1 ml per 4 gallons each to start.
After a week, check dkh and dose 10% more of both if low, 10% less if high. Check every Saturday until stable.
With apex, I dosed calcium 1/6 of total on the hour, 12am to 5 am, alk on the 1/2.
Much better than manual.

Yes, it’s a 1 part dosing solution that provides all chemical requirements & is balanced.

Calcium, magnesium & alkalinity all in one product. You can even buy 4 Tropic Marin products and mix your own/DIY for 30% of the pre-mixed product cost. Your choice.
