Is there any other containers that can be utilized for dosing my Alk and Cal? I know it's a stretch, but what about culligan jugs? Just wanted to get rid of the 1g jugs.

any container that prevents evaporation should be sufficient

Personally I use the graduated water containers from Walmart, Rubbermaid brand. They are small and fit well. I wish they were a little taller with the same footprint though.

Good deal. Your talking about the blue ones in the camping section right (I think)? Also, about how many gallons were those?

Another (better) 5 gallon container:
5 Gallon Carboy with Molded Drain & 2" Opening | U.S. Plastic Corp.

I've used both this and the one linked above A LOT and I think these are actually worth the extra $2-3. (You can find them from other sellers, but I haven't found a different price.) After having and using the heck out of two for the first few years of my tank I actually ordered a 6-pack to get the 5% discount (<$12 ea) and they've been awesome.

Compared to the carboy linked earlier, these have better quiality caps, a WAY better handle for carrying the weight, more openings that are better sized for use (not just a vent) AND a spigot that fits 1/2" tubing and which will drain the tank completely.

If you'd be better off with a different shape carboy, tank, or bucket, that place is a great place to browse just to see what's out there. :)

P.S. Either of the two carboys linked in the thread so far are miles better than regular buckets for carrying water. If you're rarely/never moving them around when full I might just suggest a plain 5 gallon bucket for a couple bucks or even free...get an opaque color or black vs clear or translucent.
